During the move my husband and I culled our books and got rid of our bookcase thinking we could stack our books underneath a mid-century bench that we have.

It worked great until yesterday I decided there was too much dust down there and I needed them to go elsewhere to make room for my husbands work stuff (he works from home).

So we went to the across the board problem solver for me, Ikea.

For the work stuff we bought the Nostalgisk box, it fits the laptop, a backpack and all the paperwork perfectly and slides right under the bench and keeps that area visually clearer then the stacks of books.

For the books we got the Lerberg bookcase in red. I was afraid our kitchen would become a catch-all since it's the biggest part of the apartment and so far it's where our CD dresser is , where the desk will go and now the books, but because the bookcase is so narrow it doesn't clutter up the kitchen and at $14.99 it didn't empty our bank account either.
