For apartment dwellers or lazy homeowners
A pendant light fixture kit for recessed can lights.
For $33.95 you can get a base (shade not included) and use your own shade or choose from one of their own from a decent selection at Worth Home Products.
Perfect for those of us who can't make permanent changes.
Pictured below is their "Brushed Nickel Retro Shop Light"...not bad at all.

Books
I love books, I love to read, I love design, therefore I love design books.
I've rounded up a few of my favorites and If there's a book you love that I didn't mention, please share I love to add new books to my shelf.
The first is a book that I love, I come back to it again and again, the pictures are so well done and I love the vignettes and the layers of texture used.
(Nest for Two: Creating a Harmonious Home by Allison Serrell and it's currently 48 CENTS! at amazon.com)
This book really changed the way I thought about my home, while I didn't follow the cure, I did gain a lot of insight about setting up a home and how items we keep shape and affect us.
(Apartment Therapy: The eight step home cure by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan)
(My Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living by Jonathan Adler)
There's not much I can say about Scandinavian design that hasn't already been said. It's wonderfully simple and functional and original.

Now I just wouldn't be me if I didn't mention Jonathan Adler. I love his objects, I love his book, tons of great design and fabulous colors and humor to be found in this one.

I love Pottery Barn, I love how each store feels warm and cozy and every bed begs you to dive under the covers. The Pottery Barn Books are books that I go through at least once every month, I get so many great ideas and inspiration from them.
(Pottery Barn Design Library: Dining Rooms, Work Spaces and Storage and Display/Pottery Barn Home/Pottery Barn Design Library: Living Rooms, Bedrooms and Bathrooms)Fruit Bowl
I love fruit bowls, they're an excuse to have a another pretty, otherwise useless decorative bowl or plate on your counter.
Today I've rounded up a few that I like and hopefully you will too.
Since I am a total klutz I will categorize them as the damage I would most likely inflict on them:

It's very Orla Kiely and so simple. I might give it a try here at the new place.

Domino Bazaar...boo
I'm not going to mince words here...it sucked.
It was the first day so of course all the cool things like Maxwell from apartmenttherapy.com's talk on the 8 step home cure, professional design consultations every 20 minutes and demonstrations were this weekend.
There were very few products and all very expensive, for the $20 ticket price you got an huge organic Domino tote and free Aveeno and Aura Paint samples, that was the best part as far as I'm concerned.

and as for misc items, I saw these black white and orange tins with punched out patterns for candles...

and this neat light fixture, it didn't turn out so well in the picture but was very cool in person. (sorry no prices, I was at the point where I was ready to leave when I took these)

Last year HGTV did a special on the bazaar and tons of people blogged about it, So I was expecting so much more, oh well, the magazine is still good.

There was one product I liked but was hesitant to blog about since it's been so popular this year and is probably a dying trend at this point, but since there was very little else I'll share.

dVider wall stickers, they're reasonably prices and come it lots of design choices and colors. They had them set in a baby's room with this cool wooden mobile for $65;

There was also this table setting with the new Souk Chic Flor tiles. I'd never seen them in person before and was able to touch them and step on them. They are soft and seem pretty sturdy.

I was bummed it turned out like that so I went uptown to MOMA and bought this:

and this...

I has seen this in the catalog and was smitten, but something about the rubber band in person made me loose some excitement for it, it wasn't as red but the vases are quality and look pretty durable.

West Elm Extravaganza!
Getting right to it; The moving truck comes Monday and we decided to give our couch to goodwill and buy a new one to be delivered to us in San Francisco. We went with a low budget, because this move is expensive. After much sitting we decided on the West Elm Tillary Modular Sofa in Charcoal.
It can function as an armless sofa, daybed, chaise and armless twin bed. The arms have a traction on the bottom so there is no effort to moving them around, just picking them up and placing them, and they stay put. It was the most suitable couch we found for lounging and snuggling which is what we do. Can't wait for the first Law and Order marathon!
Next, I got the Holiday Catalog in the mail yesterday and spotted these beauties.

It's the Modern Glass Pendant lamp, Not terribly high priced at $99.00 and they seem to have a sibling in clear glass- Seeded Glass Pendant Lamp.

and lastly, Ornaments...only I wouldn't hand them from my tree, I'd keep them up year round, The Agate and the Enamel ones would look great hanging from a door way or hook on the wall. The Chair is too cute, I'd probably put in on a bookshelf if you're into it I could see them as dollhouse furniture (8 bucks isn't bad for a West Elm Chair). They're all under $10 too!
I almost forgot! How awesome is the Octagonal lamp? ($99) I am a self confessed lamp-a-holic or as Ron M. says a lamp tramp.
