I was just watching House Hunters and I saw something pretty neat.

The couple was shopping for a vacation home in Italy and in every kitchen was an "Italian Dishwasher"; two drying racks mounted above the sink in a cabinet with no bottom.

So as you do the dishes you put them on the rack and they drip below into the sink and you can close the door on the whole ordeal.

Pretty ingenious, wish it had caught on here.
