Chateau Marmont
The legendary Chateau Marmont. built in 1927 and modeled after the Chateau Amboise in France, named for the street running across the back of the property. The Chateau Marmont opened in 1929 as an apartment house. In 1931 the building was changed to a hotel.
Helmut Newton and John Belushi died of there, Jim Morrison fell out of a window there, Led Zeppelin rode their motorcycles through the lobby...Needless to say it's an L.A. institution. It's interior and exterior are classic, simple and beautiful.
