Christopher Peacock's personal kitchen
And we have something in common ORANGE! I was flipping thru Traditional Homes October 2010 issue and was so happy to see Christopher Peacock's personal kitchen. And wouldn't you know it has orange infused into it! We all know how orange has been on my mind lately. here, and here. I love to peak into the REAL lives of designers, and he is definitley a fave. When I was designing my own kitchen, I would drool over his designs. For those of you that don't know, he is a kitchen designer who spearheaded the resurgance of the iconic white, inset, furniture styled kitchen, marble, etc.....timeless and classic.
digging those lanterns. Remember my lantern love?? |
The thing that struck me about the article is that in his own personal kitchen, he kept it simple. He didn't blow out walls to have this enormous kitchen, he didn't go crazy just because he is a kitchen designer. He stayed within the style of his Colonial Home, kept it simple, timeless, and infused color and character. I love that he has painted his kitchen 3 times in the past 5 years, even uber designers change their minds! Speaking of paint he has his own paint line., and I am really liking his ""abbey walls" grey paint in his own kitchen.
loving this infusion of the contemporary The Eero Saarinen pedistal table with marble top...LOVE! |
And if I had just a couple more feet in my dining room, I could make it a family room and it would be VERY similar to his. minus the fireplace and a few other things:)
