I don't know if it is a backlash to the razor-thin lapels and skinny tie trend of late, or just for fun, but it's tough to deny the return of the double-breasted suit. They're everywhere! I found a 1988 New York Times article also announcing the style return, which is funny to read. It seems as though the double-breasted suit makes it back on the scene after stock market crashes ('29, '87, '08), it's like a recession beard...with buttons. My two cents: the older you are, the better it looks. These guys know what I'm talking about:
