Last October I blogged about how 1980's design was on its way back with the post
Memphis Redux. And while many design junkies agreed (and were more than ready to say "Bon Voyage" to the Mid Century Modern trend/craze), it was hard to come up with many concrete examples at the time. They've started to trickle in, at least in the fashion world, and I wanted to share Chloë Sevingny's logo representing her new line for the cutting-edge bi-coastal fashion retailer
Opening Ceremony. I covered the opening of Opening Ceremony's L.A. store last Spring when I was writing for the
L.A. Times' Image section, and on a whim decided to check back and see what was new with them. Last month Sevingny launched her line for O.C. and I think the logo is so rad and so Memphis. On a similar note has anyone caught
J.Crew's new website and catalog (see photo below) that features Eames chairs and a Mid-Century Modern Palm Springs House in lieu of, oh yeah, clothes?
