The Collected Home..a little photoshoot that I set up for an ad..
would you like to see those little pillows in a store?

W

ell, if anyone has bothered to check out THE COLLECTED HOME over on etsy lately, you will see that there is sadly no product...no stuff=not so "collected", right?.  WRONG!

Hold the phone people, lest you worry your pretty little heads.  I have not jumped ship! Very much to the contrary...I have been "collecting" up a storm...for a little endevour that I will "see" so much more of my efforts, and get my name out there locally.  You see, I have found that I am not very good at the etsy site, b/c the work of taking photos, posting, mailing, etc. (not that i really did much of that, these things were what was holding me back from pulling the trigger wholeheartedly.)  Best laid plans.  I spend an exorbidant amount of time on the computer as it is. (ask my husband, sometimes he thinks I am married to the computer and not him:)   I need to be out and about, maybe seeing where my finds land....maybe helping a family make their home all it can be in the process.

Anyhoo, back to the endevor at hand.  There is a very nice consignment store in town, that will remain nameless at the moment...I have to build some suspense:), that has invited merchants/designers to carve out a little nook in the space.   I was asked, and was obliged to take part!...and am pretty excited about it!  You see I DO have a lot of stuff, and I WANT it all to go to good homes, and I FEEL the need to share it with other people.  I don't SEE myself stopping anytime soon.  The journey begins...or another part begins, I am really excited.  Going to be a busy month....oh, is the month almost over.  GEEZ!  I better get to work!

So stay tuned, my friends.

BTW: I am so thankful to this blog and all of the wonderful people I have "met" in blogland.  I wouldn't have the courage to start something if it wasn't for all of your amazing support.    THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my little ol heart:)

Paint by Numbers...a phenomenon!

via midcenteryjo
This is just a gorgeous wall of paint by numbers so colorful!

via retrorenovation
Any dog lover would adore this
via Country Living the White Issue on shelves now! Loving it!
Mountain scenes for a mountain house...Perfect!
When flipping through the recent Country Living Magazine (which is fantabulous) BTW, I noticed this wall of paintings...and not until I was reading Milk and Honey Homes raving reviews on the recent issue of Country Living did I realize they were the old Paint by numbers that were all the rage in the 1950's.

via Completely Coastal

There is a great article on the subject at Completely Coastal.  I had no idea there is a Paint by Number Museum, that the Smithsonian did an exihibit back in 2002.  Who knew/??

You may now be inspired to start your own paint by number collection....I just might have the perfect place for you to start, because I felt compelled to picked one up to put in my etsy shop The Collected Home , it would be perfect for a little girl's room, or a fan of ballet.  Put in a collection with a few other dancing Paint by Numbers would be a beautiful on a wall of artwork.  I love how this one has blocked out color, and the colors are really pretty too, purples, and turquoise and pink.  It really is too bad my little one isn't a fan of dance...because it would be stayin!

The purple velvet tufted chair just might be something that goes in the shop too...
notice the embroidered  pillow and the design, that might be available too, just sayin:)
Happy Collecting! Now off to find some of  the horse artwork....I think I know a little girl that it would be perfect for.

If you are interested the artwork will be $45 plus shipping and in my etsy shop later today, but if you are interested zip me an email too.
