A good nap

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good nap. A good ,deep sleep nap...the kind when you are on vacation and you just GO TO SLEEP, with no regrets, no worries, no "I should be doing this instead",  just sleep, you might even dream or drool, and wake up not knowing where you are....  In honor of Celerie Kemble this month, I am showing a few of my favorite bedrooms designed by her...rooms I might dream about when I am napping:).

Maybe, I will  take a nap in honor too...or not...I have a loads of laundry to do.

okay, not a bedroom, but I could TOTALLY take a nap here.  I bet the view is nice too.

Have a great weekend...take a nap!
Do you like naps as much as I do?

A very favourite Marilyn moment...

Impending weekends call for blissful mornings in bed, white sheets, and the perfect cup of coffee... this photoshoot embodies exactly how I'd like to spend my entire weekend.

One of my all-time favourite shots of Marilyn was the second down, so cute and playful with the sheets pulled up to her chin. I love this shoot and it's array of classic Marilyn moments from sultry and seductive, to effervescently fun - she had a spark, a charm and an air of glamour that leaves us all captivated even still...

Here's to a sultry start to a lovely weekend!

Underneath a canopy

I remember being a little girl and being absolutely fascinated by my aunt's canopy bed - it seemed to have a magical quality about it, I could hardly keep my eyes closed I kept wanting to look at the pretty floral canopy above me. As a grown up (sort of...) my love for pretty canopies remained strong and in my last 'single girl' room I had a beautiful, wispy white canopy over my bed. I always felt like I was up in the clouds or in some ethereal, romantic Arabian nights type of tent. I made me smile just to see it. Andrew has since given a veto to the girly-ness so I've passed the canopy along to my sister in hopes that it will bring her a little magic :).

{Another lovely canopy here.}

Romantic, hazy neutrals

Everytime I redecorate my bedroom, I always seem to come back to a creamy, neutral palette with lots of white (always white linens), with touches of lavender and muted blue. I always
find these colours so relaxing and inviting. It's fresh, but with a little more moody
undertone after dark.

Fabulous space 10.7.09

I'm a little bit in love with this room - the headboard is such a statement! I don't know where you would get this oversized lace but it's beautiful. All white with a few black accents (including a quilted Chanel purse). The painted white floor makes the space so light and airy.
