The Suspense

I am really excited about TV today, because one of my favorite shows HGTV's Design Star

is going to be on another one of my favorite design shows The Nate Berkus Show.

The suspense is killing me!  Now that they are down to 4 contestants, I am very interested to see how they measure up in this challenge.   This is one of the times where I can say, I kind of know how they are feeling....although, they should be pros by now!  I hope that they are as excited as I was to be on Nate, and don't let the nerves (or the audience)...or Nate's presence for that matter get to them!

Any guesses as to who will win this week?  Who is your favorite?

My guess for this week's standout to be Meg, because she seems to be so great on camera...although she  does tend to submarine herself.... and for the loser to be Kellie....just because they didn't show her in the trailer (love how producers play with your mind.) My feeling is that Karl and Marc will be in the finals....because they had a girl/girl finale last year, it is time for the males to shine.  Me playing producer again!

Anyway, you will know where I will be at 1:00 and 8:00 tonight...right in front of the TV!

(as if I didn't watch enough tv this weekend...I turned my ankle on Friday, cried like a baby, and was on the couch popping bon bons all weekend....as per the Dr.'s instructions. (not the bonbons part....but the stay off your feet part...so I let my children tend to my every need and want!! HA!, yeah right!!!!)

Happy Monday.

The Official Announcement!!!!! Pinch me please!

I know, I know, a bit cheesy...but oh well....can you blame me??)
I AM GOING TO BE ON THE NATE BERKUS SHOW!!!!!!!! MAY 26, 20011

Yes, everyone I can now shout it from the Rooftops!  It is OFFICIAL, I was asked about 3 weeks ago to tape a segment called House Proud on the Nate Show.  Flew up to NYC was treated like a Rock Start...and I can now say that  I did not NOT end up on the cutting room floor and have an air date of MAY 26!

It should all make sense now!  My weirdness, my mad crazy dash to get everything done....I mean when Nate comes a knockin....this girl gets to rockin (on projects, cleaning, and everything else!!)

So set those DVRs....1 week from today.

Who would have thought that a year ago today I started this little ol' blog....just to put my ideas to paper(computer) and then this.....I mean C.R.A.Z.Y....seriously.....somebody please pinch me.

Live like You is LIVE!

live like you blog

One thing about blogging is that you meet so many like minded people that you would have never met otherwise....and my friend Jill Sorenson is one of those bloggers.   Her blog is called Live Like You . I found her blog the very day I decided to paint my happy chair and my wing chairs...her blog gave me the courage.  She is awesome like that and gives you the courage to use color and just do it!

Not only is she an amazing designer and blogger, she has opened an online store called Live Like You that is a one stop shop to creating a collected feeling for a room.   The store takes into accounts all budget levels AND styles, AND she offers green alternatives to new items!  (you KNOW i am a fan of that!)

Please go by and check out the site it is one of a kind online shopping experience.

AND she is offering a discount

AND, as if it didn't get any better....

check her out at 1:00 on the NATE BERKUS show!!!

One of my favorite things

is to listen to the girls on The Skirted Roundtable.  aka Megan from Beach Bungalow 8, Linda from ::Surroundings::, and Joni from Cote de Texas.  They discuss blogging and interior design weekly on a radio show.  It makes cooking dinner and doing dishes much more bearable and enjoyable.  This week, I loved the interview with the Meg Fairfax Fielding, aka the Junk Whisperer, who also happens to have her own blog Pigtown Design.  She has just garnered new found fame with her spot on the Nate Berkus show, showing how she can eye a treasure from a mile away.  (hello, Hermes scarves for $2 a peice)  I felt she was a kindred spirit.

Just on the show yesterday....I love me some Nate!

I wish I could have been at this flea market.

I love how Nate is showing the masses that a Collected Home is not hard to create.  Which we all know is something close to my heart...I love mixing old and new!

Have a great weekend, I wish I was doing a bit of Junk Whispering myself...but I will have my hands in the dirt laying sod in the backyard......YAY!  So excited to go from dirt to green!
