Inspired Designer: Amy Meier

via Better Homes and Gardens

This month Better Homes and Garden featured the home and office of talented designer Amy Meier. Don't those curtains look fabulous in her space! I love all the natural woods and the soft blue walls.

Look how beautiful her office is. That desk is so perfect for the space.

I enjoyed the article so much. I am a new fan of her work and I had such a great time browsing her portfolio. Check out these amazing rooms.

I have really enjoyed reading about Amy's story on her blog. It's inspiring to me to read about her journey of following her dream and doing what she loves. You must check her out!

Vintage Luggage Sets

I recently saw a beautiful blue vintage suitcase at a thrift store and I wondered what I could do with it. I love seeing vintage luggage sets in decor. People get so creative with ways to use fantastic luggage in their rooms. Here are some wonderful examples.

If I ever come across a decently priced set of Louis Vuitton vintage luggage I might just have to splurge.

Inspired Designer: Christina Murphy

You have probably already seen Christina's work in some of the major design magazines. But I found these pictures too "drool-worthy" not to share with you. I love her mix of textures and colors plus I am dying over all the shiny walls!

To see more of her work check out her website.

Mix it Up!

So here is my segment. I had a lot of fun doing it. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments and emails!

What time is it????

I think this image is really pretty, and the letterpress work is fabulous.

It is MONDAY and  is it REALLY time to get up?  And so it goes, the next 13 years of my life.  I am sure I will get used to it, I am actually getting a TON done.  I look at the clock at 9am and say, 'wow, look  what I have accomplished already.

Some Clockspiration for your Monday.

Since you can buy the mechanisms the possibilities are endless.

another Decoylab creation.  AMAZING!!!

Sasa Clock
The concept:  The time is read from the color coded necklace. Each bead represents a 5 minute increment. As the wheel turns, every 5 minutes a bead drops down the cord. Orange beads represent hours, gold and silver beads represent noon and midnight. To tell the time, simply find the gold or silver bead, count the orange "hour" beads and then the blue "minute" beads until the last one to have slipped down the cord. In the full length image shown here, the time is 2:55pm.

Can be had from Heads Up Company

Have a great Monday.  I am trying:)

You make it Chandelier

She has even been so generous as to create a You Make it Chandelier for those of us that cannot afford and just might be industrious enough to try it.  This is definately going on MY DIY list!  (the list GROWS everyday!) Here are a couple of people that actually followed thru with the project.

Pretty Book

My sweet client surprised me with this book and I've been pouring over it all day.

Here are a few of my favorite images.

Check out more great images here

got me to thinking....

Can be purchased here

Today I went to Little Green Notebook's blog and she had a fabric for sale in her shop that I LOVE.

The chinoisserie is so pretty...and I am really liking the little birdie in the fabric as well. It might just be mine soon:) Anyhoo. It got me to thinking about some photos that I took when I was at the National Zoo in DC this summer with the kids.

BTW: these were the only pics I took of birds...I was evidently drawn to certain colors that day.

Do you see a color story??? These colors look very familiar to what I have been posting lately.  Here, Here, and Here.  Amazing to me how a design can really start stewing in your head before you really know it, or can pinpoint it.  I took these pictures almost a month ago, and it is starting to become clear to me what I need to do, and it might just start with a certain fabric....

Have a great day.
