Colourful wedding shoes
Just as in decor, I love the idea of an all white wedding ensemble with a shot of bright colour. It just adds such a fun, playful touch. It's a little unexpected, and shows off a little more personality. It's also a wonderful way to tie in the colour theme of the wedding.
{Really wishing I could have this pair!}

P.S More white with a shot of colour here!

Wedding Inspiration: L'heure magique
My inspiration for the wedding theme has come from my absolute favourite time of day - L'heure magique - the magic hour. The time when the sun is setting but the sky is still ablaze giving everyone a warm, radiant glow and when lights start to peak out and twinkle... it's always seemed magical and exciting to me.

{Inspiration Board No. 1}
1 - pink peonies (flickr)
2 - pretty cupcakes (selina lake)
3 - pink petals and candlelight (martha stewart)
4 - wedding dress (j crew)
5 - pink lanterns (flickr)
6 - japanese floral paper (the paper place)
7 - blue bridesmaid's dresses (j crew)
{Board No. 2}
1 - Dinner at Dusk (martha stewart)
2 - Paper Butterflies (martha stewart) - I am especially excited about this one, this is actually my special skill, cutting out paper butterflies, I've been doing it for years :)
3 - playful, wonderful photography - like one of my very favourite romantic pictures of Joanna and Alex (Cup of Jo) by amazing photographer Max Wanger.
I would really love to hear your feedback!! I have been a little bit of a reluctant bride, being already legally married, and a bit caught up in some of the stressful side of these things. I'm ready to have some fun and be creative celebrating this happy occasion!
Have any of you got any great DIY ideas to share? Or any ideas from any of the pictures above? I'm in desperate need of all assistance.
x Shar

Pretty red ribbons...
Swedish Style American Home
Hope you all had a good night's sleep and are ready to get up and go. We have a lovely home to see today. It was featured on Martha Stewart's site a long time ago and it has finally landed here. Owners David Weiss and Martina Arfwidson's home by the Hudson chose to combine casual American style with Swedish tradition.

Distressed carved wood Gustavian chairs in the foyer.

Weiss, a restaurant owner and chef, prepares crayfish in the kitchen.

A pale palette ensures bright interiors all year. The Gustavian-style chairs are vintage.

Massive floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the living room illuminate the space and help bring the outdoors inside.

A Swedish daybed is upholstered in green velvet, revealing Arfwidson's love of watery colors. An antique gilded mirror on the floor rests against a wall. Notice how the pictures were hung with the bottom line at the same level.

Storage in style. This antique Swedish bench holds bedding and table linens underneath the seat. A white mirror reflects a collection of gardening hats.
